HEY I MOVED TO TUMBLR!

In case you haven't noticed yet, this account is like totally inactive! I've moved most of my operations over to Tumblr and Twitter. I've been incredibly busy this past year with professional projects, working on comics for Adventure Time, Regular Show and Bravest Warriors! Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time to update Sakana. You can still read it over at the Smackjeeves site, and it still updates every now and then when I get some time to myself!

LIFE UPDATE~

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated since July! Since then I've turned 24, got a dog, and am waist deep in the Regular Show comic miniseries I'm writing and drawing. I have a lot of deadlines to keep up with now (like 22 thumbed, penciled and inked pages in just 12 days THAT WAS FUN) so as you've probably noticed there's been a great lack of Sakana updates recently. Paid work comes first, so I've had to put it on the backburner for a little while. I'll still be able to put up a strip every now and then, but there's no telling when I'll get the opportunities.
But here's some COOL THINGS TO KNOW REGARDING THE REGULAR SHOW MINISERIES!!
1. The first issue will be out in comic stores and wherever they sell floppy single issues on NOVEMBER 6th (so I've been lead to believe). You will know which one is mine because it has Skips the yeti screaming on the cover. I've done literally everything for this comic except the coloring, so it's kind of like my weird regular show baby. If you pick up a copy, consider contacting the company to tell them how you like it and maybe I'll get more jobs like this in the futureeeeee :'V. I'm working under the name "Mad Rupert" instead of my full name, "Madeline Rupert".
2. Because of the miniseries and everything else I've done for the Regular Show/Adventure Time comics, I got invited to NEW YORK COMIC CON!!! I'll be working and drawing sketches for people at the BOOM! STUDIOS booth! If you're going, stop by and say hello!! (I'll be the really short lady with really short brown hair.) If you've got a few bucks to spare, you can commission me to draw a Regular Show or Adventure Time character on a blank comic cover!
3. I might not be posting a lot of artwork but I'm PRODUCING A WHOLE LOT OF ART. I just can't post it yet :u

Hey first off, it's my birthday on Sundayyyyy!
Secondly, I'm going to be at Otakon this year, selling in the artist alley! YOU SHOULD COME VISIT ME!! I'll have the new eevee print, the buttons, some new buttons, and all the Sakana stuff (books, posters, etc.) that I normally have! Stop on by!

HEY GUYS SUPER HUGE NEWS

SINCE THE DAWN OF MY COMICS CAREER (roughly five years ago) I've amassed tons of personal comic pages. And I'm not talking about the current 216 pages of Sakana, I'm talking about ALL THE OTHER COMIC PAGES I've managed to accrue in that time.
And I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to bring all those together in a big ol' fun book of stupid one-shots, minicomics, class projects, and series that never really got off the ground, or are still waiting for that fabled day far in the future where I will have the free time and financial stability to just sit down and draw every single comic I ever thought up.
SO ANYWAYS the big news is that I've begun pulling old pages out from under my bed, and leafing through my old portfolios, and scouring my external harddrive for anything that I've ever done that even resembles a comic (and some are pretty janky, lemme tell you) because I want to PUT THEM ALL IN A BIG BOOK. AND SELL IT.
If you're a fan of my webcomic Sakana, perhaps you'd like to see the one-shot graffiti-centric minicomic I did three years ago? Or one of the very first comics I ever drew: where two men scream at each other until one of them turns into a banana and the other eats him? Or the first ten pages of two other series that are still waiting to be drawn? OR SLUT-FACE MCGEE, THE GREATEST COMIC I'VE EVER MADE?? OR LIKE A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT MORE??
MAYBE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE THINGS????
If you would, I'm going to be holding MY FIRST EVER SUPER AMAZING WOW SO COOL KICKSTARTER TO FUND THE BOOK. Obviously there will be lots of fabulous incentives, and obviously the only reason anybody follows me is for Sakana so there will be LOTS OF SAKANA THEMED INCENTIVES. Which is a good thing for Sakana fans because IF THE BOOK GETS FUNDED, THERE WILL BE MORE SAKANA THINGS TOO HOORAY GOOD DEAL.
I'm going to be putting up more information about the book itself and the eventual Kickstarter in the next few days, but if you could help me spread the word and drum up a bit of pregame excitement, I would be super grateful!! The only reason I can even think of doing something like this is because I have the most amazing fans in the entire world, and I am so thankful for your support every day! Even if you don't have the moolah to throw at some small lady you kind of half-know on the internet cuz she draws fish people so often, I would still appreciate a reblog, AND I STILL APPRECIATE YOU <33
